How did the Amsterdam Summer come about?

Last year, in 2020, John Ewbank, Bas Smit, and Nicolette van Dam, in collaboration with 4PM Entertainment, introduced a series of intimate summer concerts at the Olympic Stadium under the name 'De Amsterdamse Zomer'. In the midst of the uncertain COVID period and with a small group, this was a special experience. Fortunately, the successful series has returned this year! The measures had been slightly relaxed a year later, allowing us to scale up. We are incredibly happy and grateful that the Olympic Stadium can serve as the unique setting for this wonderful collaboration.

What made this event unique for the Olympic Stadium?

During the uncertain and prolonged quiet COVID period, we pulled out all the stops to re-enter the field with some energy and high spirits. That was in the summer of 2020. People were yearning to get out, experience something, and be part of something. This resulted in a series of beautiful and heartwarming events and activities that summer, with De Amsterdamse Zomer as the unparalleled highlight. During that time, we looked at what *was* possible in these difficult times. And we are happy that we were able to provide many people with a wonderful morning, afternoon, or evening once again. As the icing on the cake, we were able to tackle it again this year in collaboration with De Amsterdamse Zomer, and on a grander scale.

How this match manifested perfectly..   

When you organize something in the Olympic Stadium, it is for eternity. The ambiance, the atmosphere, and the touch of nostalgia that is added make every event unique. But at some events, this comes into its own just a little bit better. This is also the case with the Amsterdam Summer. Partly due to the timing in this difficult period, we are happy and grateful that we have been able to give it this form with the Olympic Stadium.
