The best summer activities in Amsterdam. What makes the Unique Venues special is that they all had a different function in the past and still have one today. This means you can not only find a suitable location for business, but there are also many activities to attend. Today we highlight the summer activities at Amerpodia, De Hallen Studio's, and the Maritime Museum.

Amerpodia

For years, Amerpodia's various locations have been working with diverse festivals in the city.

IDFA has been a guest at the Compagnietheater for years, and Amsterdam Dance Event returned to Felix Meritis last year. There is also a very good connection with Het Grachtenfestival. In the pre-Corona years, the Compagnietheater was the festival's main venue. Beautiful live concerts were held on a large pontoon in the canal of the Klovenieuwsburgwal.

This year, the Grachtenfestival is back in a slightly different guise. You can enjoy special summer activities and performances at various Amerpodia locations.

A selection from the program:

• The young and ambitious Libero The string orchestra blasts from the Concert Hall of Felix Meritis. And for your daily dose of soul, hip-hop, and pop, you definitely have to be at SMANDEM
• 'From the sun's perspective' premieres at the Compagnietheater. An exciting performance where you can experience music without necessarily having to hear it;
• The young master pianist Camiel Boomsma performs at De Nieuwe Liefde;
• City Poet Gershwin Bonevacia embarks on a musical journey through time at the Rode Hoed to get to know his namesake, jazz composer George Gershwin.

The livestream studio Felix Meritis will be frequently used to broadcast the daily talk show “Grachtenfestival Talks’.

The Hallen Studios

You can find the ultimate embodiment of the summer feeling at the Hallen Studio's. At the back of Bellamyplein, they are creating a city beach together with the entrepreneurs of the Hallen!

This summer, entrepreneurs are collaborating on a wonderful place for relaxation, meeting each other in person again, and enjoying time together in the heart of Oud West, at the beautiful De Hallen Amsterdam building. Everything has been thought of. From your beach chair, you can seek the shade of the trees or cool off under the shower. The kids can entertain themselves with the toys while the parents enjoy snacks and drinks from the Foodhallen.

Activities on the beach

Throughout the summer, in addition to visiting the beach, there are also summer activities to enjoy. For instance, there are weekly films at Studio Stadstrand featuring programming from the Filmhallen. Every Friday, the weekend is celebrated with a Silent Disco Sangria party on the beach. Additionally, in collaboration with the Hallen Amsterdam, there are kids' afternoons every Wednesday featuring arts and crafts and puppet shows.

The Maritime Museum

This summer, you might visit the National Maritime Museum for something quite different than you normally would. In addition to admiring the beautiful collection, with all kinds of activities for the whole family, there are also two special activities on the summer activities program.

Winemakers & Chefs

This summer, Chateau het Scheepvaartmuseum is also the stage for the best international winemakers and exceptional Dutch star chefs. They join forces, with the winemaker introducing guests to his style and pride, while the Michelin-starred chef pairs his five-course dinner with the winemaker's wines. Normally, wine is selected to accompany the dishes served; at Wijnmakers & Chefs, things are done differently. Here, the wine and the wine experience take center stage. It is currently sold out, but a new edition has been announced.

Candlelight Concerts

The Open Plein is a beautiful location for acoustic performances. In the heart of the National Maritime Museum, visitors enjoy a classical concert. The musicians are fully illuminated by candlelight, creating a beautiful atmosphere.
