Casper Kouwenberg, programmer of DeLaMar Theater, talks about “the” theater of central Amsterdam. The top of the Netherlands in the fields of drama, musicals, and cabaret performs in the two halls of the DeLaMar Theater. 

In addition to these performances, the DeLaMar Theatre is used for all kinds of events.
Think of conferences, meetings, and premieres. 

Also a true art house

The DeLaMar Theatre has something else special. Besides being a theatre, it is also a true art house. Casper shows us why. Five exceptional Dutch photographers have created a collection especially for DeLaMar. The theme of these collections is, naturally, theatre.

Each photographer created a collection based on their own interpretation of this theme. For example, the collection by Viviane Sassen. She filled the theme with a lot of glamour and a red carpet feel. Another example is Hans Eijkelboom. He opted for the audience. Erwin Olaf selected various famous pieces performed by diverse actors. 

Kasper talks about his personal favorite, Koos Breukel. This collection is unique because it is ongoing and is continuously being added to. The Koos Breukel collection consists of portraits of artists performing at DeLaMar. The special thing, Kasper shows us, is that they are photographed in a way we are not used to seeing from them. Very pure.
