  • The second edition of Wijnen in de Tuin is this coming September.

wijnen in de tuinThe ins and outs of this event

The first edition took place last year, and it left us wanting more. The event we would like to highlight is called: Wijnen in de Tuin (Wines in the Garden). The event is open to the public and is the result of a collaboration with Select Catering, Charles Hollenkamp, and eleven other partners. On the first weekend of September, locals and museum visitors can enjoy the specialties of no fewer than eleven wine and cider suppliers in the courtyard free of charge. In addition to these exceptional beverages, Café-Restaurant de Hermitage also serves various small bites and a traditional “Sunday Roast”.

Special due to the collaboration

The first edition has already taken place, and what made it special was that everyone received it extremely well. Both suppliers and guests experienced a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant collaboration. The various partners had space and were able to reinforce each other.

For many people from the immediate vicinity of the museum, the Wijnen in de Tuin event was also their first introduction to our green oasis. The inner garden is a unique spot of tranquility so close to the city center, situated at the Ossenpoort entrance by the Amstel.

What makes this event so fitting for the Hermitage?

Naturally, the historic national monument in which the Binnentuin is situated is the perfect location for a culinary event. Additionally, with this event, we aim to highlight the accessibility of the Binnentuin for residents of the Plantage neighborhood. It is also the objective of Café-restaurant de Hermitage to make the Hermitage Binnentuin known to the neighborhood and to position it as one of the focal points of the Plantage neighborhood.

This collaboration was established in cooperation with the above-mentioned parties and Artiz et al., Wijnkameel, Daxivin, Sprezzatura, New World Wineries, De Wijnwinkel, Willem's Wermoed, Bolomey Wijnimport, Au Paradis, Bourgogne Express and De Ciderman
