Knowledge and connection at the first knowledge session of the year

On a bright Monday morning, April 8, a knowledge session exclusively for members and partners was on the agenda. The goal? Not only to address relevant topics within our industry, but also to emphasize the power of collaboration and collective growth. This day promised to be a meeting place where ideas were exchanged and bonds were strengthened.

Reception at Eye Film Museum

The meeting began with a delicious lunch held at the Eye Filmmuseum. After lunch, we took our seats in Cinema 2, where participants were welcomed by the chairman of Unique Venues of Amsterdam, Ronald van Lopik. Next, moderator Willem van Zant took over and guided the group through a program filled with panel discussions on relevant industry topics.

Content session

Three panel discussions took center stage throughout the day, each focusing on a different aspect of the events industry. The first panel explored sustainability, with participants reflecting on the current state of events and how we can collectively take steps towards a more sustainable future. Questions were asked, experiences were shared, and new insights were gained.

The second panel focused on market trends. Participants were invited to share their observations and discuss how these trends impact their own organizations. What do we see happening, is it the same for the various partners and members, and how can we respond to this?

The final panel discussion focused on diversity & inclusion, a topic that is becoming increasingly important in today's society and, consequently, in our companies. Participants were encouraged to speak openly about the challenges and opportunities in this area, and to explore how we can work together towards a more inclusive and diverse community.

Time for action!

After the substantive program, it was time for action. Participants hopped on their bikes and went on a reconnaissance tour past some of the association's newest members. Visits were made to Hoogtij, @Droog, and the Westerliefde. This experience offered the perfect opportunity to discover new places and engage in pleasant conversation during the sunny bike ride through Amsterdam.

The day concluded at the ADAM Tower, where participants could relax and reflect on a day full of inspiration and connection. With the sun shining on the terrace and a breathtaking view of the city, they reflected on the many insights and experiences gained.

A successful session

All in all, the first knowledge session of this year was not only a day full of knowledge and inspiration, but also a celebration of collaboration. We are grateful for the presence of all our members and partners, and look forward to many more successful gatherings in the future. With special thanks to the working group of internal members who made this day possible. On to the next one!
