Het Sieraad (The Jewel)
The monumental building Het Sieraad (The Jewel) is a vibrant venue in Amsterdam West and is characterized by its unique location on the confluence of two channels. This technical school was originally built in the 1920s as a craftsman school for the working class and has completely been restored to its original state. Het Sieraad has four very characteristic spaces that can be rented for various events and activities.
In the centre of the building is the Atrium, an inspiring and impressive room, featuring a 16 meter high glass roof that fills the entire space with brilliant sunlight. The space is suitable for symposia and fairs, expositions, dinners but also for rousing concerts, shows and events until the late hours. Adjoining the Atrium there are three distinctive meeting rooms: The Smederij, The Timmerlokaal and The Plaatwerkerij. The rooms are completely restructured in the autumn of 2015 and furnished to the style and history of the building. All three rooms feature natural daylight, are pillar free and include audio-visual equipment.
Each room can be rented separately, or when combined, they can accommodate up to 1,150 guests. The popular and well known Cafe Edel is located in the midst of ‘The Sieraad’ and offers a creative and unique catering menu for your event! Prepare to be inspired when you take a site visit to this historic Trade School building; one of Amsterdam’s most creative environments. We are delighted to work with you towards creating an unforgettable memory of your event or meeting!
